I.

Even decades later, people are still talking about
Truman Capote’s legendary Black and White ball,
the launch party for Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium scent,
and the birthday bash that Malcolm Forbes threw in Morocco.


II.

My biggest disappointment,
however, was the flowers.


III.

But “furry” is an
adjective for pets
and stuffed animals,
not flowers.
.......................Ever.


IV.

The wall of lemons
wasn’t a wall,
and the chandeliers
weren’t chandeliers either.
